Our story.

In the early 70’s James Russell Scott, freshly graduated from SMU started his career in the Scott family business of real estate. A few years into his career he began an interest in actually building something that he sold, so he did just that. He built a series of town homes in Highland Park close to the campus he recently graduated and instantly fell in love with creating and building homes. It was more than a career to him, it was a calling.

Jim Scott raised his sons with the same passion. His goal, to create a legacy that out lived him by generations. A tradition to build more than homes, to creating spaces for stories and dreams to be made. Today, Jim Scott and Sons Builders is living his legacy.

With almost 50 years of craft in our resume Peter and Daniel Scott are leading out a legacy that was born by a young entrepreneur who had a vision to create a business that focused more on people than the bottom line. The vision’s creed was simple but deeply impactful, “people over profit. Excellence no matter the cost”.
